Reading the Alerts

NJTwatch.com doesn't show the status of every individual train. We're only showing reports of individual NEC train delays. We also show when the trains are running fine systemwide.

We get status updates at all times. The five most recent updates are displayed, with the newest at the top.

So, you may see down the list that the trains were "operating on or close to schedule" earlier in the day... but above that update, there will be a delay announcement.

If the update has come in from an email, you'll see "Email from andr". The "andr" in this case is the first four characters of the person who sent it; we truncate it for privacy reasons.

Updates from the official NJT updates web page (here) get "Via NJT" appended.

Tweets get "Via Twitter" of course.

We only are covering Northeast Corridor trains at the moment. See our notes on train coverage here.
